JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a year-round, full-time position with meaningful responsibility and long-term potential. The Flower Farmer will manage hands-on production of field- and tunnel-grown cut flowers, oversee harvest and bouquet production, and participate in direct market and restaurant sales. This role is ideal for someone who wants stability, leadership opportunity, and to grow with an established regenerative farm business.
JOB TYPE: Full Time (32+ hours, 4+ days a week)
Responsibilities:
- Daily production of cut flowers in field and high tunnels
- Seeding, propagation, transplanting, bed prep, cultivation, irrigation, and trellising
- Regenerative/low-input pest and disease monitoring
- Consistent, high-quality harvesting for market and restaurant orders
- Post-harvest handling: hydration, cooling, grading, bunching
- Bouquet production for farmers markets and direct sales
- Assist with crop planning, successions, and seasonal strategy
- Maintain organized, clean workspaces and tools
- Participate in farmers markets and direct customer sales
- Support vegetable crew during peak periods when needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 seasons of cut-flower or production farm experience
- Experience with both field and protected cultivation (tunnels/greenhouse)
- Strong understanding of harvest timing and post-harvest handling
- Ability to work long days outdoors in heat, cold, and variable weather
- Able to lift 50 lbs regularly
- Highly reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working independently and in a team
- Valid driver’s license preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Experience with direct-to-consumer or restaurant flower sales
- Interest in regenerative, organic, or ecological farming systems
- Leadership potential and long-term commitment mindset
